Navigating Uncertainty: The Entrepreneurial Journey by Laurent Balmelli

Published Date:

I am happy to learn from the experiences of a tech entrepreneur who has already had two exits, even though I have also had two exits myself. And I really learned a lot. My takeaways from last Thursday’s great presentation for me as an entrepreneur:

A company exists because the employees believe there is a way, the customers believe it solves a problem, and the investors believe it is worth something 😉

  • Team composition is key; but an 80% solution is enough
  • The doubts you carry inside you are 100% normal
  • Tell stories, stay in control of your narrative. If you can’t tell stories, don’t become an entrepreneur.
  • Write! (not only for customers, but for investors and also for employees)
  • Have a vision like this: “Let’s create a VDI killer” –> I have something like that too: “Let’s create the Unreal Engine for Cybersecurity Awareness.” 🙂
  • Americans buy the most, so build relationships with the US.

The SICTIC event last week at SICPA in Lausanne was great, thank you. And thanks for the inspiration, Laurent Balmelli, PhD !
