Cybersecurity Awareness Month Is Serious Enough. Welcome to Human Defense Month 2026.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. – And if you are an awareness professional, you probably know the situation: October is getting closer, the calendar still has a few empty spaces, and you are looking for something useful, fresh – or simply a little different from the usual cybersecurity awareness material.

For Human Defense Month 2026, CYBERDISE is putting together a free Human Defense Community Kit with practical content that security and awareness teams can use throughout Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

And yes: a lot of it is available in German as well as English.

That matters to us. There is plenty of good cybersecurity awareness content in English. Finding fresh, usable material in German is considerably harder – especially if you do not want every campaign to look like a translated compliance presentation. And don’t get us wrong, we love also our english versions 😉

What’s inside Human Defense Kit for 2026?

Here is the short version:

• 20+ editable cybersecurity posters in German and English – serious, funny, strange and occasionally deliberately ridiculous.
• 5 infographics with current 2026 cybersecurity facts and numbers, again in DE and EN.
• 2 games are coming – playable online and also available as SCORM packages.
• 4 phishing simulation templates for CYBERDISE operators to import and use.

That is the kit in a nutshell. We will showcase the individual parts during October, so we will not explain everything here.

Serious subject. Slightly less serious packaging.

The idea behind Human Defense Month is not to make cybersecurity less serious.

It’s quite the opposite: AI-generated phishing, convincing impersonation, QR-code attacks, ClickFix, smishing and voice attacks are making everyday decisions harder. A message can look perfect. A voice can sound familiar. A request can arrive through exactly the channel you expect.

That makes human judgement more important, not less.

But useful security behaviour is not created by telling employees once a year to “be careful”.

Awareness is useful. Practice is better – People need opportunities to recognise something suspicious, verify it, report it and learn from what happened. And security teams need to make that interaction easy. That is the more serious thought behind Human Defense Month.

The less serious part is that we do not think that every cybersecurity message needs to look like cybersecurity, right? Most of our users aren’t IT, right?

That is why one of our posters asks whether your CEO really joined OnlyFans. Another turns ransomware into Space Invaders. Another introduces a chatbot that may be a great listener but still does not need your company secrets.

And somewhere inside V3.3, we may have had a little too much fun ourselves (let us know when you found it).
